The Challenge

One of Rincon’s OEM partners was providing a solid-state, 100% Flash-based storage solution to an MSO customer to meet its increasing storage requirements. However, the OEM was having a difficult time concluding the deal because the MSO had previously made a significant investment in their current infrastructure.

Rincon’s Solution
  • We worked with both companies and project managed the flow of deinstalled storage area network products from multiple U.S. locations to one central location.
  • We provided verification services (part and serial numbers, etc.) and remarketing services to the OEM.
  • We resold the technology on the secondary market, which created the capital needed by the MSO to finance the acquisition of our OEM partner’s new technology.
  • We created a system where the OEM was able to focus on their core strength of developing and selling cutting-edge technology.
  • We eliminated the OEM from having to deal with the logistics and costs of handling trade-in equipment.
